Liu Xincheng, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Executive Vice Chairman of the Central Committee for Democratic Progress, and Hu Heping, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, attended the symposium and delivered a speech. The Chinese Academy of Arts was gradually merged and expanded on the basis of the Chinese Academy of Drama, the Institute of National Music and the Institute of National Fine Arts, which were established in the 1950s. In 1951, the predecessor of the Chinese Academy of Arts, the Chinese Academy of Drama, was established. Mao Zedong wrote the inscription "Let a hundred flowers bloom, bring forth the new" and inscribed the name of the academy. The Chinese Academy of Art has brought together a large number of famous scholars and artists with great achievements and high reputation, such as Mei Lanfang, Cheng Yanqiu, Zhang Geng, Guo Hancheng, Huang Binhong, Wang Chaowen, Yang Yinliu, Feng Qiyong, Li Xifan, Zhou Ruchang, Wu Xiaobang, Ge Yihong, Lu Meilin, etc. Through the unremitting efforts of several generations of scholars, the Chinese Academy of Arts has developed into a national comprehensive academic institution integrating art research and review, art education, art creation, intangible cultural heritage protection, cultural and art think tanks, and international exchange and cooperation in culture and art.
