United Nations World Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Foundation
According to the definition in the Convention for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage adopted by UNESCO, "intangible cultural heritage" refers to various practices, performances, manifestations, knowledge systems and skills, as well as related tools, physical objects, handicrafts, and cultural sites that are considered as their cultural heritage by various groups, groups, and sometimes individuals. Various groups and groups, along with their environment, their interrelationships with nature, and changes in historical conditions, continue to innovate this intangible cultural heritage that has been passed down from generation to generation, while giving them a sense of identity and history, thereby promoting cultural diversity and stimulating human creativity.
The number of world cultural heritage can reflect the diversity and depth of the historical culture of a region or country. If material and intangible cultural heritage is rated as a world cultural heritage, it can not only be recognized by the world, but also be better protected and inherited.
In the 1960s, the White House Conference first proposed the establishment of a "World Heritage Trust Fund". It is proposed to protect the world's outstanding natural scenic spots and historical sites. The United States is proposing this "World Heritage Trust Fund" theory, just in time for the Egyptian government to build the Aswan Dam on the Nile River. As the construction of the dam raised the water level and submerged a 2000 year old temple, the United Nations proposed a convention to protect natural and cultural heritage.
To this end, the United Nations World Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Foundation was officially registered and established in the United States in 2015. The Foundation seeks to establish networks among countries to promote the protection of world cultural heritage through various channels. Establish protective barriers and conditions for sustainable development.
